Creator Terms & Content Guidelines
Velthorn · https://velthorn.app
Operator: Marc Schneider, Switzerland
Creator contact: hello@velthorn.app
These Creator Terms supplement Velthorn's Terms of Service and apply to people who apply to become approved creators, receive access to Creator Studio or publish content in a Creator Academy.
1. Creator status and access
Creators must be at least 18 years old. During the initial launch, Creator applications, Creator Studio access and any Creator agreement are open to adults only. By applying you confirm you are 18 or older.
A creator must have a valid Velthorn account and be authorized to manage a specific Creator Academy. An application, invitation or approved account does not automatically create an employment, agency, partnership or revenue-sharing relationship with Velthorn. A creator is not a Velthorn employee by virtue of having access to Creator Studio.
Approval may be subject to reasonable checks of identity, authenticity, content quality, rights and platform suitability. We may decline applications or revoke access for legitimate reasons, subject to applicable law.
2. Your Academy and available features
An approved creator may use available tools to set up an Academy profile, manage video libraries and playlists, publish interactive decision challenges and build structured courses with images, text, videos, knowledge checks and practical exercises. The availability and functionality of tools may change during the beta.
Creators should identify their coaching specializations accurately and must not falsely claim affiliation, professional qualifications, tournament status, rank or endorsement by Riot Games or anyone else.
3. Publishing responsibility and content rights
Before publishing an item, you must confirm that you have the rights and permissions necessary for its intended use on Velthorn, including for:
- source gameplay recordings, images, screenshots, footage, music, voice recordings and overlays;
- any other players, clients or identifiable individuals whose information or recordings require permission;
- third-party content hosted or linked through services such as YouTube;
- game publisher intellectual property and the specific conditions applying to educational or commercial use.
Recording a gameplay clip yourself does not automatically mean you own the underlying game's art, sounds or trademarks. You must comply with applicable game-publisher rules and third-party rights. Do not upload someone else's paid coaching videos or client session recordings without appropriate permission.
Velthorn's rights checkbox records your declaration; it is not a legal clearance or licence issued by Velthorn or Riot Games. Velthorn may request additional information and may unpublish content if a rights problem arises.
4. Simple self-publishing, not mandatory expert approval
Authorized creators can publish eligible content through the platform's publishing flow by confirming their rights and complying with these Guidelines. A separate individual expert review is not normally required. Content may still be reviewed after publication, reported, restricted or removed.
Where the platform records a fingerprint or version of referenced media, replacing or materially changing that media may require a fresh declaration. Administrative approval for a creator account is separate from review of each uploaded item.
5. Publication tiers and payment status
Creators can label eligible items Free or use available Coach Pass planning features. Coach Pass billing, revenue collection and creator payouts are not currently active. A creator has no automatic entitlement to commission, revenue share or other payment from Velthorn under these Terms.
Any future commercial arrangement, payout schedule, platform commission, taxes, refunds and paid content access will require separate written terms or a clear signed/accepted commercial agreement before paid access is enabled. Do not advertise paid access to your Velthorn Academy as available until the platform actually supports it.
6. Ownership and limited platform licence
You retain the rights you hold in original material that you contribute. You give Velthorn a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence, for the period your content is hosted and for reasonable associated technical/backup retention, to store, convert formats, display, stream and deliver your material in accordance with its publication settings, and to show ordinary listings and previews of published material within Velthorn.
This is not an assignment of your copyright and does not override any third-party restrictions. Velthorn may provide technical access through external hosting or delivery partners as needed to operate the service, subject to appropriate terms. Any separate marketing campaign or external reuse beyond normal platform promotion should be addressed with the creator where necessary.
7. Content standards
Publish coaching materials that genuinely help players learn. You should:
- use accurate, descriptive titles and label patch-specific advice where relevant;
- distinguish educational analysis from claims of guaranteed performance or rank improvement;
- explain gameplay situations faithfully and avoid fabricated or misleading match evidence;
- use constructive feedback and respect other players;
- use thumbnails, banners, playlists and links that you have the right to display;
- maintain a reasonable distinction between Free and any future restricted content;
- respect user privacy, particularly of clients, minors and anyone appearing in recordings.
Do not upload or link to:
- infringing, pirated, stolen or unauthorized paid content;
- hateful harassment, threats, exploitation, unlawfully disclosed personal information or defamatory material;
- cheating tools, prohibited game exploits or instructions intended to evade Riot Games' rules;
- malicious files, misleading downloads, scams, deceptive pricing or impersonation;
- advertisements or claims suggesting Riot Games endorses an independent Academy when it does not.
8. Interactive content, exercises and XP
Knowledge checks and practical exercises are educational features. Creators must not manipulate progress, create misleading answers or attempt to farm Academy XP. XP amounts, eligibility and anti-abuse controls are determined by Velthorn's secure systems, not individual creators.
If a video/challenge is linked from more than one course or playlist, changing its availability can affect those references. Check the platform's dependency warnings before archiving or removing shared media.
9. Creator privacy and learner data
Creators may receive information necessary to manage their own Academy as made available through Velthorn. They must not access, export, disclose or reuse learners' private details outside the permitted platform features or applicable law. Access to personal data must be limited to legitimate Academy management.
Contact us before using learner data for marketing, external mailing lists or other purposes not supported by the platform. Any independent processing beyond Velthorn's tools may give rise to additional legal duties for the creator.
10. Reporting, takedowns and appeals
Users and rights holders can report potentially unlawful, infringing or harmful content through the platform's report action or Content Reporting & Takedown Policy. Velthorn may temporarily disable content while investigating. We may ask creators for evidence of permissions and may provide a reasonable opportunity to respond where appropriate.
11. Archiving, deleting and ending Creator access
Creators may unpublish, archive or delete eligible content using available controls, subject to technical dependencies, legitimate learner records, legal requirements and any separately agreed commercial obligations. Unpublishing or archiving ordinarily removes material from public access without automatically deleting underlying shared media or historic progress.
If Creator access ends, we will assess continued hosting, migration, removal and any necessary retention in accordance with applicable agreements, laws and the rights of affected users.
12. Riot Games and other third parties
Velthorn is an independent service and is not endorsed, sponsored or affiliated with Riot Games. League of Legends and associated IP belong to Riot Games and other relevant owners. Creators are responsible for using such assets only to the extent permitted by the applicable rules. Velthorn's availability or a rights declaration is not Riot Games approval of the creator's content.
13. Changes and contact
We may update these Creator Terms with reasonable notice of material changes. For content rights, complaints or Creator access questions, contact hello@velthorn.app.
